The man who escaped lawful custody when he left the Co-Ed facility near Ferry Reach on Wednesday (Aug 10) will be dealt with in the Supreme Court.
Antoine Anderson, 44, was formally charged in Magistrates’ Court two days after the alleged offence.
He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence.
The case was set down for the next arraignment session in September.
Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson remanded the inmate in custody.
The offence carries a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment.
