News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The public is advised that the annual CARIBE WAVE 2021 regional tsunami training exercise will take place tomorrow March 11, 2021.
As has been an annual occurrence, Bermuda will join other localities in the Caribbean as a participant in a tsunami response training exercise.
This year, the training exercise will take place at the executive level and will involve communications between the Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) and the Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) Executive. The emergency training exercise will be coordinated by the Ministry of National Security’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation Team.
The purpose of this training exercise is to evaluate local tsunami emergency response plans, increase preparedness, and improve coordination throughout the region.
