Reports reaching Bermuda Real at this hour (5:45pm) due to malfunctioning runway lights, which we are told are not working.
The commercial airline flight was on approach to Bermuda this evening, when they were advised to hold off while technicians make their way to the new LF Wade International airport to rectify the problem.
Our sources also say that a decision will be made in due course on whether the flight will have to divert to another airport, possibly in the United States.
Efforts to get an official comment when the problem emerged tonight were unsuccessful. We’ll keep you posted.
