Bermuda Public Services Union today announced the recipients of their scholarships.

The 12 recipients were announced at the 31st Annual Education Awards Ceremony, where six $1,500 scholarships for those continuing their education locally or online were announced, in addition to six $3,500 scholarships for those studying abroad.

Overseas award winners included: Amya Edmead, who will attend, Tennessee State University, J’Hordon Emery, who will attend St George’s University, Isaiah Hayward, who will attend the Ontario College of Art and Design University, Shayla KD Robinson, who will attend the University of North Carolina, Madison Smith, who will attend Acadia University, and Amari Stewart, who will attend Brunel University London.

Local and online award recipients included: Rochelle Harvey, who will attend Bermuda College, Levar Holder and Erica Phillips-Cheeseman, who will both attend Southern New Hampshire University, J Audley Quallo, who will study at Cambridge Academy, Janice Williams, who will study at Walden University, and Teresa Woolridge, who will study at Indiana University.

A BPSU spokeswoman said: “The Union is proud to announce that since the inception of this initiative 31 years ago, the total value of BPSU Education Awards now stands at over $780,000.

“The BPSU congratulates all recipients and wishes them much success in their future.”
