The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has confirmed the death of 68-year-old Calvin Thomas, whose was pulled from waters off North Shore on Saturday (July 15), near Empire Grocery in Devonshire.

A police spokesperson said the Devonshire resident was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

“An autopsy has since ruled out foul play and confirmed that Mr. Thomas tragically drowned,” the spokesperson added.

“A BPS Family Liaison Officer continues to provide relevant support to his loved ones.”

The BPS also extended sincere condolences to his family and friends.
