Police rushed to Somerset Cricket Club this evening when bottles were hurled as team members of Boulevard Blazers were boarding the bus to leave the club grounds after a dispute between fans escalated into an all-out fight.

TNN was on location for the match against Somerset Trojans and saw the bus escorted off the club grounds and out of Somerset by police in one vehicle.

But the few officers on the grounds called for backup when the fight escalated.

Helmets and bottles were thrown in the altercation involving fans and players from both teams.

The situation was eventually diffused by male elders, who were there as spectators in what was a relatively nice crowd before things went south.

No official word from police yet on whether there were any serious injuries or arrests.
