News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – Yesterday (Feb 21), the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Dr Ernest Peets, participated in the Bermuda National Gallery’s formal opening of The African Collection: Our People, Our Places, Our Stories.
The Minister’s attendance at the exhibition coincides with his recent announcement that in the coming weeks he will be visiting Bermuda’s museums, art galleries and historical landmarks with to engaging with those who oversee and manage these institutions.
The Minister has stressed the importance of embracing our collective history and heritage if we are to protect, preserve, understand and promote our cultural legacy.
The African Collection: Our People, Our Places, Our Stories exhibition was one of the BNG’s very first collections that was featured shortly after its opening and is being revisited in celebration of the Gallery’s 30th anniversary.
