The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) took time out to congratulate one of their new recruits, Nicholas Mello, who “recently passed his National Registry EMT Certification (NREMT) examination.
The post, published on the BFRS Facebook page on Monday (May 17) said: “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service would like to congratulate FF Nicholas Mello #185.
“FF Mello is one of BFRS’s newly recruited members and has recently passed his NREMT examination! His hard work and countless hours of studying has paid off!
“Continue to strive and push your limits. Bermuda’s newest EMT.”
FF Mello said: “I’m really looking forward to serving the community in my new capacity.’ He wants to thank his family and new fiancé for all their support!”
The post goes on to say: “The National Registry Certification examinations are intended to evaluate the competence of EMS practitioners at a variety of levels: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Paramedic.”
