Bermudian lawyer Delroy Duncan has been officially confirmed as a Queen’s Counsel.
Mr Duncan, a founding partner of Trott and Duncan Law, was one of 114 international attorneys appointed on the recommendation of Lord Chancellor Robert Buckland at Westminster Hall.
The prominent local attorney, whose legal career in Bermuda has spanned decades, joined other successful applicants in the Lord Chief Justice’s Court at the Royal Courts of Justice in a formal ceremony before Lord Burnett; Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, and Sir Terence Etherton, Master of the Rolls and Head of Civil Justice in England and Wales.
In a courtroom packed with family members and friends joined other spectating UK and Queen’s Counsel attorneys to witness Mr Duncan’s transition to the ranks of QC.
Mr Duncan’s QC status allows him the privilege to sit within the ‘inner bar’ of the court as a senior counsel, as opposed to the ‘outer bar’ designated for untitled junior counsel.
