Building on their successful collaboration in 2019 which included a $5,000 donation to the Women’s Resource Center, the delivery of professional development workshops, and support on diversity program development through Aecon University, the partnership will continue to evolve in 2020.
In addition to offering new virtual learning sessions, Aecon’s Women Inclusion Network (AWIN) will also donate $5,000 in support of Bermudian women who would benefit from support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are thrilled to be working with such a dynamic organization as Aecon, who have partnered with us on several levels to provide effective support services to women of all walks of life in Bermuda,” said Elaine Butterfield, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Centre.
“Working with and learning from Gordana Terkalas has been an exceptional and empowering learning experience for both our clients and staff. Collaboration is one of our core values and we believe that it is through working together that real transformative change is possible.
“Our partnership is a win, win for everyone, particularly the women who will benefit from this dynamic synergy.”
“The Bermuda Women’s Resource Centre and Aecon’s Women Inclusion Network’s (AWIN) are forward-thinking and likeminded organizations – bringing together our collective expertise and resources will only strengthen the impact we have,” said Gordana Terkalas, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Aecon Group Inc.
“Through our work on the Bermuda Airport Project we have built strong ties to Bermuda and we are pleased to be able to contribute to an organization with such a meaningful mandate.
“The relationship we have established and nourished with the WRC builds upon significant social investment platform established by Aecon – including through Skyport – focuses on giving back to the community.”
