Police today confirmed Omari Symonds, 22, as the motorcyclist killed in a road traffic accident in Devonshire last night.
The young motorcyclist’s death marks the ninth road traffic fatality on Bermuda’s roads this year.
The accident occurred just before 9pm on Middle Road near the junction with Chaingate Hill. A police spokesman said the victim’s bike collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
“The male rider of the motorcycle was conveyed to KEMH where he was unfortunately pronounced dead. The male driver of the motor car was not injured,” he said.
A family liaison officer has been assigned to the family and an investigation is now underway. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.
Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the movements of Mr Symonds before the crash is urged to contact PC Bianca Glasford on 247-1788.
