Sadly, Bermuda recorded another road traffic fatality this morning, following a single-vehicle accident in Devonshire.
Police say the male motorcyclist’s death marks the island’s twelfth road fatality this year.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said the fatal accident occurred just before 2am on Middle Road just east of the junction with Shelton Road.
“The male motorcycle rider was found unresponsive, with a serious head injury,“ he said.
“Life-saving measures were commenced at the scene and the victim was subsequently transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.”
No further information will be provided until all next of kin have been informed.
