News Release: Hamilton, Bermuda – The Department of Education is advising that the Bermuda Public School 2019/20 academic calendar has been posted online at www.moed.bm.
The 2019/20 academic calendar outlines all pertinent dates with regards to the upcoming academic year including public and school holidays, administrative and professional development days, and mid-term break.
It was also noted that the first day of the new school year for public schools is on a Tuesday this year.
Schools will be closed for the midterm break from Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25. Public schools will also be closed on public holidays, which includes the Celebration of Portuguese Day on Monday, November 4, followed by Remembrance Day on Monday, November 11.
The last day of school before Christmas will be on Wednesday, December 18 with students scheduled to return to school for the second term on Monday, January 6, 2020.
The Ministry statement concluded: “The Department of Education continues to work diligently to ensure the successful start of the upcoming school year, and looks forward to welcoming students on the first day of school on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.”
