While you were sleeping, organisers of the 2020 Bermuda Championship Pro-Am were up before the crack of dawn for a meeting at 4am this morning, in preparation for today’s Pro-Am.

The first tee off was set for 7:30am as the event kicked off at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, marking the culmination of “the enormous preparation effort that takes place” to stage a “world class golf course acceptable to PGA Tour specifications”.

Bermuda Real contributor Kim Swan said: “A bumper field of 160 golfers (64 Pros & 96 Amateurs make for a full day of golf, with 32 Teams of Five with two PGA Tour Pros on each team.
“We salute the Grounds staff ably led by Golf Course Superintendent Dennis Pilgrim,” Mr Swan added.
“We are most proud of our young team at Port Royal Golf Course being led by Acting General Manager Stephen Lambert.”
We’ll have a full report later today.
