News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – The  Bermudaful Centre for Mindfulness, in partnership with the Department of Culture and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC), is delighted to announce its annual community yoga classes in celebration of Heritage Month. 

Maryem Biadillah, founder and CEO of the Bermudaful Centre for Mindfulness, will lead these yoga sessions for the third consecutive year every Saturday at Spirit House in Devonshire at 11am.

Each year, Maryem guides participants through this transformative experience. This year will be no different: “I am thrilled to blend my deep passion for both yoga and Bermuda once again, leading our third yearly community yoga series in celebration of Bermuda’s rich heritage,” says Maryem. “This is a unique opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate the Island in togetherness through the mindful practices of yoga.”

Says Erica Smith, Executive Director of the BEDC: “The BEDC is proud to continue to support this worthy community initiative.   We understand the importance of mental and physical well-being as it relates to being successful in life and as an entrepreneur and this series of yoga classes will help individuals reach for success.”


Minister Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, highlights the significance of the Department of Culture’s sponsorship of the Heritage Month community Yoga series as a holistic activity for community engagement: “Yoga not only promotes physical and mental well-being but also provides an avenue for connecting with another culture through movement. Supporting initiatives like the community yoga series allows us to enrich our community’s well-being and strengthen bonds through shared experiences.”

The yearly series is designed to accommodate mixed levels of experience and uses simple yet profound, time-honoured movement and breath practices to help participants find peace and balance. Maryem leads the sessions with her trademark no-fluff, no-overwhelm approach, which uses everyday language and focuses on intentionally using one’s breath to find calm and balance in the face of everyday challenges.
