News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (Belco) Director of Communications and Culture, Krista Barnes this morning provided an update on outages as a result of the winter storm that impacted Bermuda Thursday into Friday morning and said: “Belco crews continue to work to restore power across Bermuda following damage caused by the winter storm.
“As of 8am this morning, there were approximately 3,600 without power. Customers without power are asked not to call 955 unless Belco wires have come down or there is a pole fire. Belco will advise when to call 955 if customers remain without power.
Belco’s Crisis Management Team will continue to meet and coordinate restoration efforts that will be ongoing throughout the day. Belco would like to thank the public for their patience as we continue to work to get power restored to all customers.”
