A Gombey Celebration throughout Bailey’s Bay commemorating the lives of Bermudians who have lost their lives in recent years this evening.

The event is scheduled to get underway at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club at 6:30pm.

The organizers say it is important celebrate “the memories of the late Glenn Blakeney, Marco Warren, Steven ‘Jireh’ Iris, Kiara Paiva and Daemon Bell.

“We are dancing from Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club to Hamilton Parish Workmen Club,” said Desmond Crockwell.

“Alongside the Gombeys will be the Hamilton Parish Majorette and Dance Group.

“But before we start the gombey march, we will be having a YOUTH AWARENESS MAGAZINE Relaunch at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.

“This magazine includes serious issues that many of our young people face, as well as a few recipes for parents.”

He urged participants to get their copy before they set out on the march.

“Please come out and dance with the gombeys and majorette group,” he added.

Suburban Transit will be providing transport from Hamilton Parish Workmen’s Club back to Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club as well.
