Police have confirmed the arrest of an 18-year-old man in connection with the stabbing and robbery that left a 16-year-old boy fighting for his life with serious injurie.
A second man was also questioned in connection with the incident that occurred at the car park opposite Southampton Rangers Sports Club field on South Road around 5:45pm on Friday (May 7).
Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro said: “We would like to thank those members of the public who have come forward so far as we recognise that we are reliant on the public to help make us all safer.”
Police say the 16-year-old was robbed of a gold-coloured chain before he was stabbed.
Mr Pedro appealed to anyone who was on South Road or on the public beaches or trails between 5.30pm and 6.15pm on Friday to contact police.
