The Argus Group confirmed today that the company formally closed after “an employee of a tenant operating out of the 14 Westley Street office had tested positive for COVID-19.

A company spokesperson said: “We formally closed all Argus facilities out of an abundance of caution.

“All staff have been made aware of these circumstances. We are continuing to support our clients, members and healthcare providers,” she added.

The statement issued by the company yesterday stated: “The health and safety of our entire community is absolutely paramount. Argus Senior Leadership made the decision to close all of our global customerfacing operations with our Bermuda offices closing on March 18th, 2020.

“We also encouraged our Bermuda Argus workforce to start working from home effective Friday, March 13th, 2020 after giving the same direction to our international teams.

“We have begun making calls to our most vulnerable members to check on their needs and our Customer Service Centre has been operating remotely without issue for over a week.

“We have expanded our coverage for phone and online telemedicine appointments and our overseas emergency hotline iscomprehensively staffed.

“Our priority remains the wellbeing of all Bermuda residents and we will continue to provide comprehensive service and support during this time.
