Another protest demonstration against the appointment of Lee Rizzuto Jr by the United States Consulate will take place later today.
The protest, to be held outside the Consulate on Middle Road, Devonshire, at 5pm, will also make a stand against the unlawful killing of blacks in the United States.
This after a few dozen people took part in the first demonstration on Monday.
A flyer for the event today states: “We take action … again.
“Wear a mask. Stay 6ft apart. Bring water. Rain or shine. #Reject Rizzuto #Icantbreathe #BlacklivesmatterBDA.”
Mr Rizzuto, a controversial Donald Trump campaign contributor, was announced as replacement for US Consul General Constance Dierman.
He also donated $449,000 to Mr Trump’s presidential campaign political action committee and made US news headlines when he posted “conspiracy theories and unfounded attacks” about the President’s political opponents on Twitter in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election.
The high profile death of George Floyd at the hands of Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin last week sparked outrage across the world.
