News Release: HAMILTON, Bermuda – American Airlines has announced that it is reinstating year-round daily flights from New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Bermuda’s LF Wade International Airport (BDA). These flights had come to a temporary stop when the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. Beginning November 3, 2022, the restored flights will make Bermuda once again easily accessible for east coast travelers 365 days a year.
“We are thrilled to welcome back American Airlines’ daily flights from New York City to Bermuda,” said Charles H Jeffers II, Bermuda Tourism Authority CEO. “The island’s tourism economy is experiencing a resurgence in 2022 and with a two-hour flight time between the destinations, Bermuda will be the perfect place for a vacation in the upcoming months.
“We are proud to continue to expand our footprint in the Caribbean with more flying to the destinations that our customers value the most, operating this year up to 151 daily flights to 35 destinations in the region,” said Jose María Giraldo, American’s Managing Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. “With the return of our New York service, this winter we look forward to operating 28 weekly flights to Bermuda, strengthening our position as a leading airline in the Caribbean.”
