All systems are go for the 2019 Bermuda Round the Island Powerboat Race on Sunday (August 18) after inclement weather postponed the event last week.

The forecast for Sunday calls for mostly sunny skies with light winds out of the SE, the anticipated high is 85 degrees.

The start time is set for 2pm from Ferry Reach.

A spokesperson for the Bermuda Powerboat Association (BPBA) said: “We have 19 registered racers and racing promises to be quite contentious as all have signed up to win!

“Vendors will be on-hand at Ferry Reach. We will also have our newly built Junior class boat on display. Our youngster future racers are invited to come and check it out and discuss how you sign up to enter the BPBA Junior Race program open to 10-15 year olds.”

A post on the association’ Facebook page added a list of RTI records up for grabs and to be broken in almost perfect race conditions forecast for Sunday :

C – 39:40
D – 38:46 (old C record is 37:57)
S – 33:35
