Air Canada flights to and from Bermuda have been grounded, possibly until the end of April as a result of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Air Canada and WestJet halted flights to Mexico and the Caribbean region until April 30 in a bid to prevent the spread of variants of the coronavirus.

The announcement by Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also included further restrictions on visitors from other countries, including a mandatory hotel quarantine.

Air Canada suspended service to Bermuda on January 8, with initial plans to restart the service on February 12. That suspension was just extended last week to April 12.
