Two men are now on remand at Westgate Correctional Facility on remand in connection with the shooting incident on Mother’s Day.

Tony Burgess of Pembroke, was formally charged with attempted murder and using a firearm to commit an indictable offence in Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

He was not required to enter a plea to the indictment which will go to the Supreme Court.

The 29-year-old was remanded in custody by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo, who set the case down for mention on June 5th.

Another 29-year-old Pembroke man was charged with the same offences in connection with the same incident last week.

Jahmico Trott was also remanded in custody pending his next mention date in Magistrates’ Court.

The victim sustained a superficial gunshot would to the leg during a confrontation in the Court and Elliott Street Pembroke area on May 14th. He reported the incident and his injury to police. One of the suspects was arrested the following day.
