A male motorcyclist is tonight listed in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, following a serious road traffic accident last night.

Police say the accident involving a motorcycle and a car, occurred around 9:15pm on Saturday (Mar 16), on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish.

“Reports are, a male motorcyclist was travelling east on North Shore Road when he attempted to overtake a line of traffic,” a spokesman said.

“He collided with a motorcar just west of the Francis Patton Primary School and was ejected from the bike into the roadway.

“He sustained multiple serious injuries and was left unconscious.

“Upon arrival at the scene police officers immediately commenced life-saving procedures until Emergency Medical Services attended.

“The motorcyclist was immediately transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

“At last check, he was listed in critical condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

“The motorcar driver was not hurt but was left visibly shaken by the incident.

“The roadway remained closed for approximately three hours while the scene was processed by Traffic Collision Investigators.
