A 68-year-old man who barricaded himself inside the old Prison Headquarters building on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke, reportedly while in possession of a noxious substance, was arrested by police this morning.
The incident occurred around 8:30am this morning, when police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel and ambulance personnel responded to the report.
A police spokesman said: “Representatives from Government social services also attended the scene.
“The man in question, believed to be a 68-year-old, was apparently in possession of a noxious substance and refused to leave the premises. As a result, police officers cordoned off the area as a precaution.
“The individual was later taken into police custody without incident and inquiries continue by police as well as the relevant Government social services agencies.”
Meanwhile, the investigation into this incident continues.
